“Don Quixote”. Miguel de Cervantes
Having read many stories about knights, poor lord Alonso Kihada ends up believing that he is a knight. Thus, his imagination becomes reality. He changes his name to Don Quixote and embarks on a life adventure in the company of knights, magicians and giants.

“Myth and freedom: Stories from the Greek Mythology”
From distant Phoenicia, we come in the wake of Kadmos searching for Europe. On the way we shall meet Sphinx. We will try to solve her riddle and get to know the three Graces!

“The fish manifesto”
A group of kids are, enjoying themselves building castles and cities on the sand. When suddenly, huge waves appear and take their breath away. The astonished kids watch as various water species walk out of the sea and on to the beach to demonstrate holding pickets and banners! They demonstrate against Pollution and Contamination that makes their life in Sealand unbearable. Will the children manage to save the water species and our invaluable seabed? A fairytale that turns into a game.

“Maria and Alexander”
A girl has lost her friend. This becomes the starting point of a journey all around Greece with songs and fairy tales. The girl will visit various places, meet people, get to know their customs and traditions and in the process also get to know herself.

“The Rose of Constantinople”
A Storytelling - musical journey, from the destruction of Smyrna to September 1955: Testimonies of people who managed to survive, entangled with songs that reveal their memories and take us along with
them through the path of pain and persecution they have experienced. The narration includes a short visual tribute concerning the historical events of the time.

A folktale from Kea: The struggle of a stone cutter to fill the oil lamp of his life with oil from the Eternal Olive Tree. In his quest, he has to fight with dragons and beasts and to go against the decisions of the Lady of the Nether World.

The Folktales Festival invites anyone who wants to share with the audience a tale from the oral tradition around a table of wine and appetizers. (Entries at the event point. The fairytales should not exceed 5 minutes). Coordination: Maria Vrachionidou

“Tales of War”
Iran 1980: The Islamic revolution has torn the country apart. In a godforsaken radar station close to the Iraqi border, a young man looks towards the horizon. A swarm of Cobra helicopters fly into view. Soon Amir Mirzai is thrust into the middle of one of the longest and most brutal wars of the 20th Century. "Tales of War" is his story, and the story of many others. Together with colleague Torgrim Mellum Stene he paints a vivid picture of the stark realities of war, intermixed with tales of friendship, laughter and craziness.

“Two birds are singing and out comes a story!"
Two birds made of clay tell the story of a boy imprisoned in a room full of sweetmeats. The boy together with a girl will manage to melt the wall and free themselves. A folktale from Crete that comes alive with music and movement from the attending children! After the storytelling session, the participants will be invited to take part in a clay modeling workshop.

“The rebel cat”
Have you ever met someone who has literally turned your life upside down? Who has changed your life forever? This is the story of a cat living peacefully when...suddenly, a "huge, fluffy thing" appears in front of him and nothing is the same anymore...
Storytelling: Jenny Diamantopoulou. The story is based on a text by Alkiviades Kousis entitled "Not a word about Hera!”.
